As of October 2011, the pipeline construction phase of International Paper's Water Quality Improvement Project is complete. The Water Treatment Plant, pipeline and effluent distribution system will soon be fully operational. This milestone will fulfill the promise made by International Paper to improve the quality of our local waterways and protect, enhance, and in some cases restore historic wetlands.

Many of our local leaders have given testimonials in support of the mill as an economic driver for our community and of the project as an important step toward further protection of our natural resources.
